Study Abroad Opportunities for Technion Undergraduate Students

The Technion offers Undergraduate students the opportunity to spend a semester or two abroad at one of the Technion's partner universities. This is a wonderful opportunity to experience academic life at another institution, as well as learning about other cultures and other countries, meeting different people and forging important connections for the future. This is also a great opportunity to act as an ambassador for Israel, representing the Technion.

  • The Technion has Student Exchange agreements with many universities around the world, in Europe, Asia, Australia and North & South America. See the "Partner Universities" list on the top left side of this website.
  • Undergraduate Technion students can study for a semester or two at these institutions under these agreements, and their studies are recognized and credited toward their Technion degree.
  • Studying as an Exchange Student means that you continue paying tuition at the Technion during your Study Abroad period, and are exempt from paying tuition* at the host university.

*Please note that this does not include housing fees and other administrative fees which you might be required to pay at some universities

  • In order for us to consider you for the Study Abroad program, you must have a Grade Point Average of above 80 . We will not consider applicants with a GPA of less than 80.
  • You will also need your faculty's approval (signed on the Application Form). We consider applicants who have already completed at least 2 semesters before applying, and who will be returning to the Technion for at least one more semester

The Student Exchange office will post the options for Study Abroad for the next academic year after the beginning of the Winter semester. Check the Student Exchange website for the list of universities offering Study Abroad options. See the "Study Abroad Options" list on the top left side of this website.

* Important: Architecture students should submit application documents to the Student Exchange contact person in the faculty, NOT directly to the Student Exchange office.

In general, your studies at a partner university should be recognized. But it is your responsibility to make sure beforehand that your faculty approves your Study Abroad plan.

  • Absolutely. Even if the language of instruction at the host university is not English, you must have some English proficiency in order to succeed and present yourself well abroad. Obviously, good English proficiency is mandatory if you are planning to study at an English-speaking university. Moreover, some universities, particularly in the US and Canada, require a TOEFL or IELTS score as part of the application.
  • * Some universities require some knowledge of the language of instruction prior to arriving at the university (e.g. in Germany, Chile and others). You should take this into consideration when you choose the university you wish to apply to. In some cases, you will need to take a language course during the semester prior to your period of Study Abroad.
